FACTS: While there may be minor differences, the manner by which the U.S. and the EU regulate the safety of cosmetics and personal care products are very similar. In the United States, the cosmetics industry is regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which has broad regulatory authority under the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
